Economic Development Town and Village Grant Awards of €100K each to Blarney and Upper Glanmire announced.

The Blarney scheme, supported by Blarney community groups, identified a series of targeted interventions to improve pedestrian safety and to enhance the overall public realm of the village centre. The Upper Glamire scheme was submitted by Upper Glanmire Community Association Ltd. and funding will will be used for the construction of an innovative geodesic dome in an existing community garden; improved accessibility to the community association grounds and overall public realm improvements to the village.

FOSO-POCO: Cork City Council’s latest EU project – supported under the COSME programme – was approved over the Winter and got underway in February. Over the next 12 months, FOSO-POCO will address the development of the local social enterprise ecosystem. The project will begin by looking to improve collaboration between existing local networks and stakeholders and to support the fostering of a local social economy community.
