Roads Capital Programme: LIHAF Funded Projects: DOCKLANDS TO CITY CENTRE PROJECT (€6.5 million) The preliminary design is complete. Traffic counts, building surveys and site investigation contracts are complete. Detailed Design and preparation of construction contract documents is progressing. Planning process to be progressed. GLANMIRE ROADS IMPROVEMENT SCHEME Compulsory Purchase Order has been submitted to An Bord Pleanala, oral hearing was postponed from 20 th of April due to restrictions surrounding Covid-19. New date is awaited. Section 50 applications for new bridge are awaiting OPW approval and detailed design is continuing.
MONAHAN ROAD EXTENSION (€5 million) Design Team selection process is complete. Preliminary design is underway.
Urban Regeneration & Development Fund: EASTERN GATEWAY BRIDGE The draft appraisal brief & related tender documents as per DPER Public Spending Code requirements are complete. The Appraisal tender documents will be issued to the NTA & LDA for their input prior to publication. BEAMISH & CRAWFORD QUARTER INFRASTRUCTURE The detailed design for the bridge at Proby’s Quay and the bridge at Crosses Green is progressing as is the detailed design for the public realm enhancement of South Main Street, Tuckey Street, Proby’s Quay, Sullivan’s Quay, etc.
Bridge Repair and Rehabilitation Projects: DALY’S BRIDGE: Revised arrangements being put in place for project close out.
BAN NOW BRIDGE, GRANGE ROAD BRIDGE, BLACKSTONE BRIDGE & HEALY’S BRIDGE: Design Team appointed . Preparation of tender documentation ongoing.
PRINCIPAL INSPECTIONS OF BRIDGE AND CULVERT STRUCTURES WITHIN CORK CITY BOUNDARY 2020: Engineering consultant (WS Atkins) appointed. Inspections commenced.
New Cycle Lanes: HORGANS QUAY Contractor appointed and construction work is progressing
CENTRE PARK ROAD Contractor has been appointed. Construction is scheduled to commence in the coming days.
