17 Prepare guidance notes to aid the design of new tree planting as part of the Development Management process. 18 Seek to identify budget sources to develop a programme for integrating new street trees into existing streets and develop strategies of how and where such planting should be prioritised. 19 Identify verges of major roads where planting could occur and what resources and agreements would be necessary to carry out planting. 20 Develop strategies, in collaboration with the community, for incorporating more trees in neighbourhoods with the lowest canopy cover and seek to identify additional budget sources if necessary to implement these strategies. 21 Identify sites suitable for the expansion of existing woodland and creation of new woodland and seek to identify budget sources for land acquisition as required. 22 Incorporate details of tree planting in ecological corridors into the Tree Strategy following the development of the overarching approach to ecological corridors currently being developed as part of the city’s broader Green and Blue Infrastructure Strategy.
