Roads Capital Programme: DUCGS & NTA Funded Project: MARY ELMES PEDESTRIAN & CYCLE BRIDGE (€5.2 million) The bridge project is complete. The repaving of Harley’s Street is substantially complete. DOCKLANDS to CITY CENTRE PROJECT (€6.5 million) The preliminary design is complete. Traffic counts, building surveys and site investigation contracts are complete. Part 8 Planning process is complete. Detailed Design and preparation of construction contract documents is progressing. The Part 8 Planning approval is being challenged in the Courts by representatives from the Save Cork City Campaign Group.
GLANMIRE ROADS IMPROVEMENT SCHEME Compulsory Purchase Order has been submitted to An Bord Pleanala. Section 50 applications for new bridge are awaiting OPW approval and detailed design is continuing. MONAHAN ROAD EXTENSION (€5 million) Tender Documents for the selection of the design team are progressing
Urban Regeneration & Development Fund:
EASTERN GATEWAY BRIDGE The draft appraisal brief & related tender documents as per DPER Public Spending Code requirements are complete. The Appraisal tender documents will be issued to LDA for their input prior to publication.
BEAMISH & CRAWFORD QUARTER INFRASTRUCTURE Tender submissions for the selection of the procurement of the design team are under review. The winning tenderer will be appointed in the coming weeks
Bridge Repair and Rehabilitation Projects:
DALY’S BRIDGE Contract awarded to L & M Keating and construction works underway. ST. PATRICK’S BRIDGE Refurbishment works complete.
