Sustainable, Inclusive and Empowered Communities

Vital the LECP refers to the Sustainable, Inclusive and Empowered Communities Strategy as it articulates the values and principles that will guide and shape G overnment’s support for communities and the community and voluntary sector in the coming years and help realise our vision for communities by the end of the decade.

National Further Education and Training Strategy 2020 – 2024

Specific reference to FET must be made within LECP to further encourage community outreach programmes, family learning, integration, and inclusion initiatives, to traineeships and apprenticeships.

Blue Green Infrastructure (BGI) and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) Framework

LECP could tie in social cohesion i.e placemaking from this BGI strategy. For example, facilities/ amenities, adequate housing, migration of people. From BGI, LECP could promote healthy population i.e. people. Examples Ballincollig Regional Park passage railway Greenway. LECP could identify relevant stakeholders

LECP needs to include reference to the New Regional Enterprise Plan for the South-West 2020 as it supports job creation, wherein a community lies at the centre.
