Policy Review- LECP

4. Inclusive Participation, Democracy and Good Governance ✓ Cork people are educated and equipped to participate actively in local government and communities are encouraged to participate in a meaningful way in decision-making structures. ✓ Inclusive and active participation - Public Participation Networks – travellers- lone parents, youth for ideas and recommendations (e.g. SICAP/ CYPSC) people ✓ A city where all voices are included: A city built on partnership: Volunteering and community engagement partnership

Creative Ireland programme 2017-2022

✓ Include in the LECP specific evidence of local creative youth partnerships (LCYPs) and specific evidence of creative technology and creative schools. E.g the nation’s first “rammed earth” at Tramore Valley. Roadmap for Social Inclusion 2020 – 2025 ✓ Link the social inclusion strategy into the LECP by specifically referencing high level goal 6: ‘build inclusive communities - encourage active citizenship’ (among others). Broadband plan also aids in this effort. ✓ This strategy also covers employment, fair pay, equity of access, income security for older people, reducing poverty levels for

children and those with disabilities. The strategy closely aligns with that of the LECP.

The National Migrant Integration Strategy

✓ Overlaps with the Sanctuary Movement. ✓ The strategy includes themes such as volunteering, integration in the community, education, pathways to work, access to public

services and social inclusion. The strategy closely aligns with that of the LECP and should be referred to with evidence-based

practices
