11.00 - 13.00 HRS Cork Entomology Group Field Visit Farm visit in Liscarroll (Exact location emailed on registration) Cork Nature Network ENVIRONMENT / ECOLOGY | EDUCATION Join the First Cork Entomology Group Field Visit for 2022 to a farm in Liscarroll. The site includes woodland and a pond and it is a fantastic place to see and study different insects. During the event, the participants will be shown some common insects. Bring appropriate shoes and clothing. Children must be accompanied by their parents at all times.

14.00 HRS Fitzgeralds Park: historical walking tour Meet at bandstand, Fitzgerald’s Park, Cork with Cllr Kieran McCarthy CULTURE | HISTORY This tour explores the story of the the peoples park and the Mardyke. There are clues to a forgotten and not so familiar past in Fitzgerald’s Park. Suitable for all those interested in the historical development of Cork City.

12.00-13.30 HRS Dancing with the Stars: a childrens folk dance workshop UCC, Room G30, O’ Rahilly Building, University College Cork ART / CREATIVE | CULTURE A mix between story telling and dance, this will be an open class for kids, where they will learn about folk dances, create their own dance, and become familiar with the lively cultural heritage of one of the communities that make up Cork today.This event celebrates female dancer Amalia Hernandez, creator of the ‘Folk Ballet’ in Mexico in 1952.

Girl Guides in Fitzgerald Park: Do you know a young girl who would like to embark on a journey full of fun, adventure and challenge? Come on down to try out a Taster Session for Ladybirds (5-7 yrs.), Brownies (7-10yrs.) All welcome. There will be a max number per session and participants must be accompanied by an adult. This is a chance to find out about #givinggirlsconfidence and the Guide Unit nearest/convenient to you.
