‘A Learning City is what a Learning City Does’ As our motto states, our Learning City is defined by our Actions, by the commitment of all our partners and by the engagement of the people of the city. The Diagram above is a representation of the range of Learning in Action Projects, Initiatives and the Decision-making bodies that all work together to achieve our vision as a Learning City. Our Vision: Celebrating and supporting learning - all ways and for all We see Cork as a place where active engagement in learning, lifelong and lifewide, by all people, is part of our identity and our culture. We see learning as a means to transform lives, locally and globally; and we are committed to leaving no-one behind. Our Priorities – the UNESCO Cork Call to Action Cork Learning City works to implement UNESCO policies on Learning Cities, giving priority to the UNESCO Cork Call to Action on Learning Cities 2017. This significant policy document calls on cities worldwide to implement lifelong learning strategies relating to the social, environmental and economic dimensions of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, promoting:
• Equitable and inclusive learning and living environments; • Green and Healthy learning and living environments; • Opportunities for decent work and entrepreneurship.
