2.1.1

Enhance the support of Cork City PPN as a key vehicle for meaningful public participation and support them to build their capacity for meaningful input into the policy and decision-making fora of Cork City Council. Facilitate active participation of all ages and abilities through existing fora and inter-agencies and to facilitate their input into civic planning and decision making. 2.1.2a – identify gaps in participation through a gap analysis focusing on the seldom heard voices. In collaboration with the community and voluntary sector support and promote a sustainable model of volunteerism in Cork City, creating voluntary opportunities for all ages and abilities and for those experiencing exclusion. Support the sustainability of new and existing Community Associations so they can continue to meet the needs of their communities, and particularly those experiencing exclusion. 2.1.4a – Carryout a survey of Community Associations to assess their sustainability and to identify models of good practice to share. 2.1.4b – Coordinate an annual Seminar for Community Associations. Enhance quality models of advocacy within and among the partnerships and Inter-Agencies to increase intersectionality, collaboration, shared learning, and sustainability. Build upon the RAPID, SICAP, Learning Cities, Social Enterprise Programmes, Local Area Challenge and Empowering Communities Programmes with a partnership approach to tackling poverty, increasing social inclusion and equality. 2.2.2a – Create a working group for collaborative programme implementation Recognise and focus resources, in collaboration with the Traveller and Roma community organisations, on the high level of support needed to improve educational and employment access and well-being outcomes of the Traveller community. 2.3.1a Support the development and implementation of the Traveller Accommodation Plan for Cork City Support the community and voluntary sector to advocate for and support one parent families to thrive, recognising the higher rates of deprivation, consistent poverty, low employment, and homelessness of one parent families. Support the LGBTI+ community through its strong and robust community and voluntary organisations and encourage policy development from a rights-based perspective across agencies. To lead on and encourage an all-island approach to Irish cities membership of the Rainbow Cities Network. Recognise and focus on the high level of support and resources needed to improve the quality of life, safety, and well- being of disabled people/people with disabilities. 2.3.5a – Support the work of the Cork City Disability Working Group and Cork Access Group. Prioritise and focus on opportunities to support and secure the wellbeing of children and young people in the city, especially those experiencing poverty and exclusion. 2.3.7a- Work towards gaining a UNICEF Child-friendly city status.
