6.4.2
Encourage all stakeholders to support an increased frequency of pedestrianisation in the city centre and pilot traffic-reduction schemes throughout the city. Promote the shift to a circular economy for all sectors and support the implementation of the National Waste Management Plan for a Circular Economy 2024 – 2030, including the promotion of new bioeconomy ventures in the city. Support the City Centre Placemaking Fund, encouraging revitalisation of the built environment and establishment of green spaces that prioritise biodiverse and socially inclusive green spaces. Promote local food production and consumption, by supporting the Cork Food Policy Council to develop a robust, sustainable food strategy for the city.
The implementation of this proposal and its associated outputs are consistent with the aims of the following Objective 4.4 (Active Travel) Objective 2.10 fifteen minute city
