Cork City LECP 2024-2029 Vision The Cork City LECP 2024-2029 (Draft Plan) shares the vision set out in the new Cork City Development Plan (2022-2028):

- “.. Cork City to take its place as a world class city, driving local and regional growth, embracing diversity and inclusiveness and growing as a resilient, healthy, age-friendly and sustainable compact city with placemaking, communities and quality of life at its heart.” SEA Comment: This has a positive vision for the future of Cork City Development Plan area with regards to as a resilient, healthy, age-friendly and sustainable compact city with placemaking, communities and quality of life at its heart. Connectivity within the statutory hierarchy framework within which this Draft LECP sits is key to its sustainable economic, community and environmental commitments. This strategic vision is a shared vision set out in the new Cork City Development Plan (2022-2028) of compact growth; A city of neighbourhoods and communities; Sustainable and active travel; Enhanced built and natural heritage; A strong and diverse economy; a resilient city; A healthy, inclusive and diverse city; A connected city; and A city of learning and culture. At the core of the CCDP vision are cohesive and sustainable communities, where the cultural, natural and built environment is protected. This Plan, as the planning and decision-making framework, has been subject to environmental assessments, as appropriate. Thus, this Draft LECP Strategic Vision does not have direct impacts on environmental resources (see SEA screening in this main report for more details).
