National Oversight and Audit Committee NOAC was established under the Local Government Reform Act 2014 to provide independent oversight of the local government sector at local, regional and national level.
The Performance Indicator Reports for 2020 are available on the NOAC website – www.noac.ie. The 2021 indicators will be collated during 2022.
A Review of Local Authority and Regional Assembly Corporate Plans was performed in 2021. Cork City Council’s Corporate Plan was commended for the following:
• Demonstrating a commitment to strategy and its execution by linking to external strategies, policy reports, and documents. • Using social media as one of the parallel series of consultation programmes. • Mission, Vision, and Values were concise, and action focussed that correspond neatly to the High- Level Goals and Strategic Objectives. • Each high-level goal contains a strategic statement and high level output/outcomes. They are generally set out and described in a highly people-focussed way.
