Bridge Projects Cork City Council, in conjunction with the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, and the National Transport Authority, completed conservation works at Daly (Shakey) Bridge to address extensive corrosion and damage to the structure and its approaches. Daly’s Bridge is recognised as a significant contribution to the architectural heritage of Cork. The Structure is included in the Record of Protected Structures (RPS) and the National Inventory of Architectural Heritage (NIAH) and is the only surviving bridge of its kind in the country.

Cork City Council, with funding from the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, completed repair and rehabilitation works to the following 5 bridges: • Bannow Bridge • Parliament Bridge • Blackstone Bridge • Grange Road Bridge • Healy’s Bridge
