Cork Lifelong Learning Festival 2024

In 2023, The Glen Learning Neighbourhood hosted a 'Neighbourhood University College' programme. The programme was delivered in ABLES Literacy Centre one morning per week over a six week period. Lecturers from UCC, MTU and community educators delivered a variety of subjects including mindfulness, assistive technology, history and more.

As part of this year's Cork Lifelong Learning Festival, Togher Learning Neighbourhood will promote their recently published Togher 'Places of Learning' directory. The Togher Learning Neighbourhood Committee will host the stand at the Togher Garda station Open Day on the 13th of April from 11am to 2pm to distribute the directory.

South Parish Learning Neighbourhood will host a community fair in Elizabeth Fort on Saturday, the 13th of April, from 11am to 2pm as part of the Cork Lifelong Learning Festival. The fair will showcase a variety of learning organisations in the local community. Local groups, clubs and organisations will highlight activities that are taking place across the neighbourhood. There will be a variety of musical performances on the day to celebrate lifelong learning in the community.

This year, the Mayfield Learning Neighbourhood have participated in a 'Places of Learning' photography campaign. The campaign is being run to celebrate places and spaces in the community where learning takes place. Cork photographer, Clare Keogh, has captured images around the Mayfield community which will be exhibited on the 10th of April at 11 am in Frank O' Connor Library as part of the Cork Lifelong Learning Festival.
