It is exciting to see events taking place exploring the theme of Living Heritage which celebrate the traditions, skills and practices passed down through generations. I want to acknowledge the work of local authority Heritage Officers but also the large pool of dedicated volunteers from a variety of communities working in heritage who have created the events listed in this guide. Their efforts ensure not only that our heritage is preserved, but that new generations can explore and learn about our heritage.
