Cork City Libraries Memoir Of An Irish Jew

A talk by Yvonne Cohen on her father’s book Memoir Of An Irish Jew: the story of Lionel Cohen who was born in 1922 into a Jewish family in Cork. Lionel served in the Irish Army, the British Merchant Navy, the Israeli Army and in the fledging Israeli Merchant Navy. 12pm to 12.45pm, The City Library, Grand Parade. Cork City Libraries Bran Dubh Historical Combat and Living History Society Bran Dubh Society showcase people and crafts of the medieval period with a range of medieval objects for display and demonstration. 12pm to 5.30pm, Children’s and Young People’s Library, The City Library, Grand Parade.

Military Historian Gerry White looks at the war in Cork including the Battle for Cork, the deaths of Michael Collins and Seán Hales, the Free State policy of executions and how the war ended. 12pm to 1pm, St Peter’s Cork, North Main Street.
