10.00 -12.30 HRS Cork LGBT+ Advocate Network Training Morning Gay Project, Funded by Department of Rural and Community Development, Gay Project and Cork City Council South Parish Community Centre, Sawmill Street, T12CX32 EQUALITY / DIVERSITY / LGBTI+||EDUCATION Inviting those from various community, public and professional work sectors and educational institutions across Cork City to become members of the Cork LGBT+ Advocate Network. Participants will enhance their understanding of LGBT+ identities and challenge their own biases to become better LGBT+ advocates. 11.00 - 12.00 HRS One Book One Community Cork City Libraries Blackpool Library, Redforge Rd, T23 AP11 ART / CREATIVE||LITERATURE Seven Northside schools come together to read and celebrate one book - this year, Holes by Louis Sachar. The students create art inpsired by the novel, to be displayed in Blackpool Library, and stage a concert, also held in the library. The 7 schools involved are, North Pres Primary, St Vincent’s Primary & Secondary, North Mon Primary & Secondary, the AG, Gaelscoil Pheig Sayers and Blarney Street.

11.00 - 12.00 HRS The Traveller History of the Black Ash Cork City Libraries and Cork Traveller Women’s Network Tory Top Library, T12 WP57 HISTORY||CULTURE Did you know that the Kinsale Road Roundabout and the Black Ash area were once an important place for nomadic Irish Travellers? Come to this friendly chat event and learn more about the Black Ash Traveller Oral History project; the traditions and lives of the families who lived there. Talk accompanied by art exhibition (running for the week).
