Lifelong Learning Festival 2023 Programme

Mayfield Learning Neighbourhood are hosting a Lifelong Learning Expo on Wednesday the 29th of April in Mayfield Sports Complex. This event, organised by the Learning Neighbourhood Steering Group, showcases all of what Mayfield and the surrounding areas have to offer. With over 30 community and education organisations represented at the event, people can access, sign up to and experience all of what is on offer in the area including sports, music, adult education, gardening and flower arranging to name but a few.

This year, the Glen Learning Neighbourhood coordination group are delivering an 8 week ‘Neighbourhood University College’ Programme. This programme is a free, 8 week, part time programme that provides participants with a sample of further and higher education in a local community venue. Lecturers from across UCC, MTU and FET colleges provide classes on a variety of subjects over the course of the programme. The programme finishes with a tour of the UCC and MTU campuses. This programme is also being delivered across Knocknaheeny, South Parish, Togher and Mayfield communities throughout 2023.

The South Parish Learning Neighbourhood coordination group are hosting a Lifelong Learning Expo on Saturday the 1st of April in Elizabeth Fort. This event showcases a wide range of learning activities that are taking place in South Parish and the surrounding areas. The event will include a talk about Green Infrastructure by popular Garden Designer Peter Dowdall as well a variety of musical performances and more.
