Community Monuments Fund
The City Archaeologist submitted 5 applications for the Community Monuments Fund. The Fund, administered by the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage Dep was established to provide investment in Ireland’s archaeological heritage. Local Authorities can apply for publicly owned monuments and can also submit proposals on foot of applications from private applicants who are the owners or custodians of archaeological monuments where there is a tangible public benefit. The total gran t aid sought amounts to almost €170,000.

Ballincollig Gun Powder Mills Strategic Plan Stream 2
Rathcooney Church Condition Survey and Conservation Report Stream 2
Blarney Castle Estate Repairs to estate bridge, decking repairs and replacement anti-slip grips Stream 3
Blarney Castle Masonry Conservation Stream 1
Conservation Works at St. Fin Barre’s Cathedral Stream 1
Heritage Unit
The draft Cork City Heritage and Biodiversity Plan online workshop took place on the 8 th of April with 276 attendees on the night There were 150 submissions to the draft Cork City Heritage and Biodiversity Plan which are currently being summarised and reviewed.
