Reachout Project

Initial approval has been received for a €124,455 grant from the Horizon 2020 programme to support participation in a 42- month EU partnership project on ‘Climate Services’ and developing adaptation strategies integrated in climate resilient urban development. Based on a proposal submitted in January, the REACHOUT project aims to contribute to ‘’bridging the last mile’’ in the development of a sustainable and accessible portfolio of tools to support citizens, private sector and government to improve resilience to Climate Change by bringing about something of a step-change in the use of knowledge and information. For Cork specifically (the MaREI centre is also among the partners), involvement with this project should help to better reach the community and business sectors of the quadruple helix, strengthening current efforts in these areas and establishing a city-wide structure of citizen engagement and behavioural change.
