The Revelate Warriors of the Crann Centre
Analog Devices Cork City Marathon were proud to Pilot Revelate Sessions for patients of the Crann Centre in Ballincollig. Appropriate, supported physical activity can be an important element of neurorehabilitation, helping people rebuild strength, confidence, and independence. With funding support from the Analog Devices Cork City Marathon, adults attending the neurorehabilitation service at the Crann Centre have been able to take part in weekly training sessions at The Engine Room Fitness Gym in Ballincollig. The sessions are delivered through Revelate, an inclusive, gym based programme developed by Chris Kenefick, designed to be accessible, supportive, and appropriately challenging for people of all abilities. Six weeks of classes have been funded, giving
participants a safe and positive return to fitness and physical activity. Feedback from participants has been extremely positive, with sessions described as enjoyable, challenging, and something to look forward to each week. Inclusive fitness is an integral part of neurorehabilitation at the Crann Centre.
In November we supported and hosted the Irish leg of the Kevin Sinfield 7 in 7 Challenge which raised vital funds for Motor Neurone Disease charities. The Cork Leg started outside the offices of Red FM on Model Farm Road and finished in SuperValu Pairc Ui Chaoimh. We thank everyone who helped us out on the day. Kevin raised a total of £1.15 million for various MND charities during this challenge including the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association. Kevin Sinfield 7 in 7 Challenge for Motor Neurone Disease:
