Management and Maintenance of Parks, Open Space Areas, Outdoor Amenities and Recreation Facilities. Grass mowing, Roadside Verge Maintenance, Nature & Conversation Areas, Litter Collection & Disposal, Graffiti Removal, Floral Displays, Tree Planting. Maintain in accordance with BS 7370: Part 3: 1991 – Category D, F & H. Herbicide Application in accordance with BS 7370 Part 3 & $. Locations: North West, North East, City Centre, South East, South West and Extended Boundary Areas. Grounds Maintenance: • Litter Collection & Disposal: Parks, Open Space Areas/ Amenity Walks, Litter, Fly tipping, Domestic Refuse. • Playground Inspections: Inspect, maintain & repair in accordance with BS 5696 Part 3. Daily -15 visual (105 weekly); Weekly – 15 – Technical (Foreperson); Monthly – 15 – Technical (Engineer); Annual – 15-External Engineer Technical. • Playground now open, but with signage advising COVID 19 guidance. Repairs undertaken to Playgrounds in Glanmire and Douglas. Repairs to playgrounds in Ballincollig Reg Park, Glanmire Innismore and Douglas • Lifebuoy Service: 202- Daily inspections; One new lifebuoy installed at Fionn Laoi amenity area Ballincollig. More to follow • Golf Course : Manage and maintain course including ancillary facilities in accordance with scheduled seasonal maintenance. • Floral Planting : Circular tower plants in various locations around the city. A considerable number of floral planting is now pollinator friendly. • Parks Fixtures & Fittings : Maintain, repair and replace as appropriate. • Park Security : Manage and monitor security in parks, open space areas and amenity walks-engage external security as appropriate. • Allotments : Manage and maintain 140 plots Churchfield Gardens and Ballincollig allotments in the extended boundary area. Allotments remain open during COVID – 19 restrictions Cemeteries : Manage and Maintain: St. Finbarr’s; St Catherine’s; St Michael’s; St Joseph’s, Rathcooney, St. James, Curraghkippane, St. Oliver’s, Kilcully Old, Iniscarra and Carrigrohane Beg.
Essential Service during COVID -19 Pandemic.
Excavate Graves and undertake burials. Niche sales and record Inurnments. Record Interments, grave re-openings and plot sales, Grass mowing, wreath & floral removal, litter collection and weed control. Lay Foundations for Headstones. Maintain Car Parks. Projects :
• Marina Park: Phase 1 snagging works ongoing with an estimated completion date of February 2022. Park Opened November 2021. • Tramore Valley Park: Half Moon Lane Upgrade to allow pedestrian/cycle access to TVP. Work substantially complete, snagging ongoing. • Clashduv Park: Regrading and drainage works to soccer pitch are completed. • Ballincollig Regional Park: Automatic Toilet scheduled to be installed in late early January • Fionn Laoi: Outstanding works by Developer near completion. • St Catherine’s Cemetery: Survey of land and det ail design underway in preparation for Part 8 submission. • Water Fountains: Site investigations underway in preparation for installation at Tramore Valley Park, Fitzgerald’s Park, Ballincollig Regional Park, Bishopstown Park and Gerry O’ Sullivan Park. Tend ers for supply and installation have been returned. • Wheelchair Swings: 5no Wheelchair Swings to be installed at Meelick Park, Gerry O’ Sullivan Park, Pophams Park, Clashduv Park and Lough Mahon Park during November/December. Tenders for supply and installation have been issued. • Mahon Golf Course Car Park: Resurfacing and lining completed.
