Freshers Event 2021 An online event was held on the 21 st of December to connect with new employees that had joined Cork City Council in 2020 and 2021. The event was hosted by the Chief Executive Ann Doherty and Ann O’Mahony, from Well Being at Work and AHR consulting Limited was a guest speaker at the event.
The event was an opportunity for new staff to give feedback on their experiences on working in Cork City Council since joining us. In many cases new staff had to work remotely or at a distance from their team and this would have been a very different experience for them from a professional, social, and personal perspective. The event was attended by over 65 staff from administrative, technical, and outdoor grades. Staff were given the opportunity to meet colleagues from other Directorates during the event by using breakout rooms that were set up by the ICT Directorate on Microsoft Teams.
The feedback received from the staff that attended was very positive and will be used to developed to an online induction program for new staff into the future.
