New Covid-19 signage has been installed on site to encourage social distancing and to adhere to current guidelines
With the introduction of additional sanitising measures, and the completion of Failte Ireland infection prevention training by the onsite team, Elizabeth Fort has been awarded the “Covid -19 Safety Charter”.
Work is nearly complete on a new railing and path at the southern end of the walkway which will allow for a one-way pedestrian traffic system Cork City Attractions Group Cork City Council has been working with the Cork City attractions over the summer to provide mutual support in preparing to reopen. Several practical initiatives have been developed, including a joint promotion publicising the reopening dates and a 10% discount cross selling promotion involving all the city attractions. These initiatives have been widely promoted by the attractions, hotels, Pure Cork and across social media. Other joint initiatives, including familiarization visits with the hotels, are currently being developed.
Local Enterprise Offices (LEO)
The Local Enterprise Office, Cork City, has implemented a variety of business support during the current pandemic:
Trading Online Voucher Scheme Under the Government’s National Digital Strategy, the expanded Trading Online Voucher Scheme helps small businesses with up to 10 employees to trade more online, boost sales and reach new markets. There is up to €2,500 available through the Local Enterprise Offices with co-funding of 10% from the business. These are all subject to eligibility and funding availability
272 trading online vouchers have been approved to date with many more in the application or assessment phase.
Training and Webinars Local Enterprise Offices have moved training programmes, workshops and networking meet-ups online, covering areas such as cash management in a crisis, leading your business through COVID-19 and advice for employers impacted by the crisis.
Training programmes are generally free of charge and places can be booked online, through the Local Enterprise Office.
Over 1,100 people have participated in the webinars and training to date.
Mentoring Under the Local Enterprise Office Mentor Programme, clients work with an experienced mentor to identify solutions to areas of exposure within their business.
With advice and guidance from their mentor, clients develop strategies that are more robust, which address issues and maximise potential opportunities when the COVID-19 crisis comes to an end.
Mentoring services are now free of charge and 172 businesses have availed of this service during COVID-19.
