It calls for the repurposing of the Christ the King convent as a community hub with medical service facilities and a drop off for older people and the infirm. It suggests s that the Capwell Bus garage and Turners cross football stadium could be relocated to brownfield sites closer to the Link/Ring roads. It suggests that brownfield development in the area offers a unique opportunity to develop a flagship neighbourhood from an urban planning perspective to promote the 15-minute city. This submission highlights the significant increase in the quality of life – in terms of raising the accessibility of amenities in Cork City and County to residents of Cork City – were efficient public transport to be provided. Specific improvements include: • Barrier free boarding of buses, trams, trains (so you get on and your ticket is checked after and those without ticket are fined • Easy ticket purchase…use downloadable apps to store credit card info so you can buy a ticket anywhere. • Affordable prices for public transport • East of transfer between different public transport modes The main relevance of this submission to this High-Level Goal is its support for the Bus Connects plan and the prioritisation of active travel and public transport over cars. It calls for more encouragement to leave cars at home and the pedestrianisation of more of Cork city and Douglas, citing improvements in Togher as a result of pedestrianisation.

lines and the existence of only one bus stop with a designated bus lay-by (Barter’s Wood). • Opposes development of cycle lanes in the area as being unsuitable for the hilly environs.
