• The site for the new elective hospital of St. Stephen’s Hospital Glanmire • The proposed route for the Cork North Ring Road to service the proposed hospital
5.2.25 Bike Commuting Ireland
This calls for the introduction of a mobile app to report illegal parking along the lines used in cities around the world.
5.2.26 Traveller visibility group
Provide infrastructure amenities relevant to the Travelling community including facilities for horses, Traveller community sporting facilities (e.g. handball courts) and street signage.
5.2.27 Meitheal Mara This submission calls for the creation of a Maritime Activities and Recreation hub to be included in the LECP as a key infrastructure project for Cork City, anchored around the river Lee which it sees as the largest recreational space within the city having huge potential for provision of inclusive physical activity. This will enhance safe access to the water by providing a slipway. This will increase participation in activities such as An Rás Mór and connect various parks in the city with the city keys, Blackrock village and the Mahon loop.
5.2.28 “A Golden Opportunity to build a model neighbourhood.
This submission calls for the management of new non-resident traffic in the Kinsale Road/Pearse Road area to ensure that known future developments (such as Bus Connects, the CMP site, Cortex site, Casa Mia site and MSL site) – and the likely development of brown field sites on the route – do not lead to traffic congestion. It welcomes the construction of a bridge over the South Ring Road from Grange to the Tramore valley park and proposes a “similar bridge” from the area of the Mick Barry Road. It implies the foot/cycle route from Bishopstown Roundabout to Mick Barry Road could be maintained better and calls for its connection to the Tramore Valley Park and onward to Douglas and Rochestown Road, Passage West and Monkstown, and for the integration of this route with Park and Ride facilities. It calls for the creation of “village” at Turner’s Cross.
