High Level Goal 2 – Partnership, Inclusion and Equality

Submission source Summary of Issue Raised relevant to this High-Level Goal 2.2.11 Cork Access Group This submission’s key proposals are as follows:

• An emphasis on achieving the UN Strategic Development Goal 2 “No Poverty”.

2.2.12 Cork Child Friendly City Forum

This submission’s key proposals are as follows: • For Cork to implement the goal of making Cork a Child Friendly City, as adopted in a motion in the City council, by harnessing a range of existing initiatives and building on them through a “children’s rights” lens and consulting children. • Addressing child poverty • Ensure public cross cutting service providers are trained in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, Children’s participation in decision making, trauma awareness and universal design. • Develop the concept of a “Children’s Mayor.” These submissions proposals do not pertain directly to High Level Goal 2 but some of its suggestion’s observations are indirectly relevant to it: • Amending High Level Goal 1 to add text in bold: “A City valuing health and wellbeing for all”. • Supporting the implementation of the Cork Healthy Cities Action Plan 2020-2030 • Promote cross sectoral working and integrated health planning to address not only social and disadvantaged based but also commercial and environmental determinants of health outcomes.
