Submission source Summary of Issue Raised relevant to this High-Level Goal 2.2.21 NASC Key proposals in this submission are: • Provide standardised accommodation for those seeking asylum.
• Provide more accessible employment opportunities for migrants and also provide relevant training and education and job seeker supports, particularly English language supports. • Develop anti-racism initiatives – including cross-cultural political creative and educational strategies – should be developed to increase the capacity to recognise and report racism, build community resilience and integration. • Raise political representation in Cork’s integration efforts.
2.2.22 NICHE
This submission is mainly focused on health projects but because it relates to projects in disadvantaged areas of Cork (Knocknaheeny and Shanakiel) it provides a good example of blending High Level Goals (in this case 1 and 2)
2.2.23 Sustainable Living, sustainable community in Residents’ Group area
This submission supports the LECPs goals and objectives in relation to inclusion and equality. It proposes that the relevant residents’ group area is a location that is ideally placed to contribute to and benefit from community involvement in collaborative decision making and to pilot schemes that reduce marginalisation, citing the role of its 20222 Playful Community Event in leading to the emergence of a community group on Noonan Road and the creation of a community garden on Fort Street as part of its biodiversity intervention.
