Appendix 5 High Level Goal 5: Safe, Accessible and Resilient Neighbourhoods

5.1 Online survey feedback Survey feedback was received in both quantitative and qualitative form and is presented in Appendix 7 (A7.5 for this High-Level Goal) This feedback is more “context-providing” than directional in nature and should be used as a reference to support, where necessary, recommended actions. 5.1.1 Quantitative survey feedback • Responses from North Cork were strongest in the Mayfield, The Glen/Ballyvolane and Farranree communities. • Responses from South Cork were strongest in the Douglas, Ballyphelane, Togher and Bishopstown communities. • In response to the level of satisfaction concerning Daily Living in the Community, the greatest areas where respondents felt improvements were warranted were in the availability of Recreation facilities, Safety, Job Opportunities and Social Life • In response the level of satisfaction with local services, the greatest areas where respondents felt improvements were warranted were in the level of services for vulnerable, younger, and older people with concerns also notable in relation to Primary Care, Community Safety and GP services. The charts below suggest that the key concerns arising from online survey feedback are as follows: • There was an even response from North and South Cork with 394 responses from each category. • In response to the level of satisfaction with local facilities, the greatest areas where respondents felt improvements were needed were in the availability of self-employment/contractor/study space and safe cycling routes, with concerns also notable (see footnote 2) in relation to safe walking routes, Community Halls/Centres, Playgrounds and Public Parks. • The highest areas of social need in Cork City were identified as in the provision of affordable housing and improved public transport.
