Training Update – Climate Awareness Climate Ireland, on behalf of the Local Authority Services National Training Group, is delivering a comprehensive programme of climate training to all local authorities. The training programme consists of 6 pillars:
1. Championing Leadership – for senior management and elected members 2. Raising Awareness – for staff in back-office roles
3. Building Capacity – for staff of the Council’s Climate Action Team 4. Empowering Change – for community and outward facing staff 5. Delivering Action – for outdoor staff 6. Actioning Policy – for staff with specific responsibility for implementation of the Council’s Climate Change Adaptation Strategy and Sustainable Energy and Climate Action Plan.
The timeline for the roll out of the Raising Awareness Pillar in the Council is shown below:

Elected members and senior managers completed the ‘Championing Leadership’ pillar on 04 June and relevant senior staff of the Council participated in the ‘Actioning Policy’ webinar series held in May. The ‘Building Capacity’ training for the Council’s Climate Action Team is due to take place for Cork City in November 2021.
