Submission source Summary of Issue Raised relevant to this High-Level Goal 3.2.17 Traveller
• Facilitate aspects of Traveller community culture such as horse ownership and traveller community sports (sulky racing, handball, boxing etc) in suitable venues. • Provide spaces for storytelling, music, and art in a cultural centre to facilitate interaction between Traveller and settled communities. • Consider Traveller community culture and heritage when tendering for public art and signage: For example, CTWN have put in a submission to rename Grange/South link Bridge “An Tober” • Create a cultural hub for Cork using some of the many buildings available for repurposing, perhaps creating additional studios and gallery spaces, practice rooms and artists residences. In doing so enable the entire community – with a focus on the marginalised – to participate in the city’s cultural scene.
