(Social Interaction) Meeting people in front gardens, having family with me, clubs for community gatherings, local GAA and library, Yvonne’s coffee chats on Wednesday/community networking. (Identity and Belonging) More safety, library/St. Vincents (Feeling Safe) Nash’s boreen when dry during the day (not safe at night), traffic lights functioning. (Care and Maintenance) More maintenance of houses by inhabitants and council. (Influence and sense of control) Support from Yvonne and open community meetings How can it be made better? (Moving Around) Deal with dumping and burning of waste, put in a working CCTV, clean up litter, clean up dog dirt and broken glass, remove scramblers on the footpaths. (Public Transport) Heavy vehicle traffic from Apple needs to be addressed…particularly when they mount the footpath. (Traffic and Parking) Stop heavy traffic mounting curb, Bus shelters and better bus stop on Knocknaheeny avenue, video on more accessible bus use, bike rental scheme, more green spaces, ban scramblers. (Streets and Spaces) End of Kilmore Road very dangerous. Need to put in road crossing, paint concrete blocks at St. Vincents and plant around them, renovate gardens, more clean ups, plant pitch with wildflowers, more street signs. (Natural Space) Have a walking path with wildflowers, more cleaning up, a community notice board, remove litter and burnt-out cars, large scale redevelopment of green areas, clean Nash’s boreen and remove vehicular access, fines for dog fouling. (Play and Recreation) Make the new farm age friendly with a walking path around it, connect new farm with Saint Vincent’s and Nash’s, reopen park on Kilmore Road, (Facilities and Services) communicate better about services and events in the community, services to help do repairs and train people to keep clean and tidy house, more knowledge about facilities, remove language barriers in hospitals, convenience stores/gift shop/bakery, (Work and Local Economy) Need a convenience store and restaurant/carvery, tackle boarded up homes, address litter problem, need new businesses in the area, bakery as an opportunity for locals.
