Sustainable Living in 5.2.4 Residents’ Group
This submission is from a group involved in placemaking interventions that have had a significant positive impact. It is strongly supportive of the LECP’s goals and wants to see communities have ownership of developing their neighbourhoods. It cites a number of well- developed social and community networks (such as South Parish Learning Neighbourhood) who are well placed to support the expansion of the consultative approach to decision making. It supports the trial of the 15-minute city concept and sees opportunities for a thriving market at Cork’s original market square next to Elizabeth fort, enhancing natural heritage for more greenspace.
